[Where can I buy] a a new steering wheel cap and new steering wheel bezel for a 1986 Montauk [17]? [Please always mention the length or the boat--jimh]

The bezel is aluminum but badly pitted. I have a Teleflex Safe-T steering system. I see there is a plastic bezel kit but to replace with a metal bezel might be nice. Thanks.

Any marine retailer or vendor that sells any kind of boat steering will have replacement steering wheel center caps. You just need to specify the diameter of the cap you need for your current steering wheel, which you have not described. For example:

If you want a replacement bezel for the helm assembly, look for a replacement part from the OEM. It is likely that the OEM was Teleflex, which is now sold under the name SEASTAR SOLUTIONS. See

Bezels are available in anodized aluminum, and they look nice when you have matching gauge bezels.

I thought I was a very good "Googler" and had done a good job looking for the steering wheel cap. However, Kudos to jimh for being the master searcher.

I will look into the SeaStar info for the anodized bezel.
