Cockpit Deck Crack Repair

On the floor of a 1994 OUTRAGE 21 there is cracking around the captain's seat base. Give advice on repair. Thanks
While a photo would help, here goes.
When a fastener is attached to the hull and the the top edge of the hole is not chamfered or beveled the compression of the fastener against the gelcoat produces a stress crack in the thin gelcoat layer that radiates outward.
If this describes the crack in question, know the crack is superficial. If a repair is warranted for cosmetic reasons, the steps are as follows.
grind out the crack, wipe with acetone and apply color matched gelcoat.
