Add one more step -
Prior to inserting cut and prepped drain tube, you should coat the sides of the drain tube hole with marine sealant and let cure.
Marine sealant should be used rather than an adhesive under the O ring.

Several posts on a new topic have been removed from this thread discussing a youTube presentation that demonstrates use of brass tubing and a flaring tool. Those posts covered two new entirely different topics and are now in their own two separate threads.
