Q1: Is the cuddy cabin on an Outrage 25 Cuddy an integral part of the hull?
Q2: Is the cuddy cabin on an Outrage 25 Cabin a part which can be removed without damaging the integrity of the hull?
[I may want to remove a cuddy cabin from an OUTRAGE 25 CUDDY boat.]
Cheers. Jan

Re: Cuddy cabin on Outrage 25
Thank you Phil for the answer I was hoping for.
Re: Outrage 25 Cuddy Cabin Removal
If you remove a cuddy cabin from an OUTRAGE 25, I may be interested in buying the cuddy cabin.

Re: Outrage 25 Cuddy Cabin Removal
Thanks Mike. The question is no longer relevant to me: I just bought a 1981 Outrage 22 without the cuddy cabin.
Re: Outrage 25 Cuddy Cabin Removal
There is a general problem when removing a cuddy cabin from an OUTRAGE CUDDY boat. Typically the berths in the cabin are formed from what would have been bow lockers on an OUTRAGE, and the hatches that would cover those lockers on an OUTRAGE as laminated fiberglass hatches are then made from wood on an OUTRAGE CUDDY. By removing the cuddy cabin the wood hatch covers will then be exposed.
Also in the OUTRAGE CUDDY models there is a companionway into the cuddy cabin that is created by cutting a step into the Unibond hull and deck. With the cuddy cabin removed the step will be an obstacle to having the original foredeck restored.
If you want an open boat like an OUTRAGE, then buying a boat that was built as an OUTRAGE is a much better route to getting an open boat than buying an OUTRAGE CUDDY and tearing off the cuddy cabin. When the cuddy is removed from an OUTRAGE CUDDY, the boat that results is not really an OUTRAGE--it is more of a Frankenstein boat.
Converting an OUTRAGE to an OUTRAGE CUDDY can be done if an intact cuddy cabin laminated component can be found. But that implies having to find an OUTRAGE CUDDY owner who wanted to convert to an OUTRAGE. It would be much simpler if the two owners could just swap boats and not try to convert the original boats to a new model.
