MONTAUK 17: Source for Replacement Windshields

Postby fina » Fri Jun 25, 2021 11:43 am

Both my 2002 and 2004 Montauk 17 have broken windshields.

What vendor has the cheapest replacement windshields?

I suspect that any source for a replacement windshield for a classic MONTAUK 17 won't have the item sitting on the shelf. A vendor would likely make a replacement windshield once he receives your order and pre-payment.

If you are located in a reasonably-sized metropolitan area, there may be a custom plexiglass shop that could make a replacement windshield for you using the existing windshields as a pattern.

Perhaps others know of a vendor who ships replacements to customers and has a stock pattern.

A good place to start to determine a price: call an authorized Boston Whaler dealer who specializes in replacement parts, such as

--TWIN CITIES MARINE in Wisconsin
--NAUSET MARINE in Massachusetts

They should be able to give you a quote. You can decide how much further effort is required for you to find a less-expensive source.

Fina -

UPD is the primary vendor that Sue and Nauset uses.

They are backed up MONTHS.

Considering this, get a sheet and heat it and bend it yourself.
