Q2: is creating a mold using compound and release the best?
BACKSTORY: I have a [1986–ALWAYS USE FOUR DIGITS FOR YEARS] Montauk [17—ALWAYS INCLUDE THE LENGTH DESIGNATOR WITH THE MODEL FAMILY NAME]. I am planning to do some gel coat repair work this year to fix crazing, cracks, screw holes, etc.
