NAUSET 16: Console Repair

Postby bclark2j » Tue Sep 21, 2021 9:16 pm

Q1: When rebuilding a console in a NAUSET 16, can the the rotten wood vernier layer be peeled off?

Q2: what method is used to remove rotten wood in order to get to bare wood?

I suspect that the best method for refurbishment of the wooden console in a NAUSET 16 is going to depend on the particular condition of the wood in the console that is to be refurbished. If there is severe delamination of the plywood, the original wood may not be worth salvaging.

If you need to cut new wood, you may be interested in purchasing a set of very detailed drawings of all the elements used in the construction of the console. See
