1988 13-footer: Identify Component on Bow

Postby Lou Auret » Wed Oct 13, 2021 1:10 pm

On the port bow of my 1988 13-footer are a pair of mounting bases. I think the purpose of these paired mounting bases is to mount a trolling motor or perhaps to mount a lamp.

View the illustration below and give me your opinion of the purpose of these paired mounting bases.

My boat has the same pair of rubber disks fastened to the bow deck. Mine are black. They are quick release mounts for a trolling motor bow bracket. The prior owner used them with a MotorGuide Great White GWB 80V. I don't fish so removed the two extra heavy batteries and sold the trolling motor. I have never gotten around to removing the quick release mounts and restoring the screw holes.

Thanks. The mounts on my boat are metallic--I think. I have a brand now: Motorguide.
