1985 REVENGE 22 Replacement Fuel Tank

Postby Neil99 » Mon Apr 18, 2022 11:52 am

Where can a replacement fuel tank for a 1985 REVENGE 22 be obtained?

BACKSTORY: The 1985 REVENGE 22 I just bought may need a new fuel tank.

Florida Marine Tanks manufactured the original tank. Depending on where you are located [the cost of shipment of a new take by] freight gets crazy.

Pull out the fuel tank--it is easy. Take the fuel tank to a local fabricator and have a copy made. Some fabricators do not want to make fuel tanks for reasons of liability. Because of this the work is usually done as a "water tank" and payment is in cash. The tank must be baffled so fuel does not slosh..

If your 1985 Revenge 22 has the two-piece deck cover over the fuel tank, changing the tank is not difficult.

ASIDE ON NEW TOPIC:

If the boat is to be used in saltwater search for a thread with title "Revenge 22 Hull Drains."

If the fuel tank was made by Florida Marine Tanks, their label will be on the tank near the fuel tank level gauge. FMT has moved to Henderson, North Carolina. They have a website at---wait, you won't believe the URL---https://floridamarinetanks.com

My 1990 REVENGE 22 W-T Whaler Drive boat has an OEM tank made by Florida Marine Tanks. I expect your 1985 REVENGE 22 will also have an FMT tank.

and at

I would expect a 77-gallon replacement tank of OEM quality will now be about $3,000.
