[For a Boston Whaler 170 MONTAUK boat] I'm seriously considering replacing my 2003 Mercury 90 FOURSTROKE [actually a YAMAHA engine] WITH CARBURETORS with a new Suzuki DF90ATL. The selection has as much to do with the dealer as with the outboard. I considered the E-TEC 90 but have concerns about the dealer. My post is really to get feedback from people who own or have been on a 170 with the newer Suzuki 90, and not to get into a debate about the best outboard.

How is the performance? What propeller did you go with? Any regrets or suggestions? Thanks,

I [purchased] the Suzuki [DF90ATL]. I will report back with my impressions once installed and tested. I am still not sure on which propeller to go with. The good news is my dealer-installer will let me try different ones until we dial-in the right one.

New Suzuki DF90ATL outboard has been installed along with a tilt helm, SeaStar hydraulic steering, and Turbo Swing ski bar. I will report performance once I've completed the break-in period.
