Electrical senders for tank level tend to have two standards: one found in the USA and another for Europe. The resistance ranges are different, and so is the direction sense. The nominal values are:

TANK LEVEL SENDER RESISTANCE
Ohms: Full / Mid / Empty
USA: 33 / 103 / 240
EUR: 180 / 95 / 10-Ohms

Electrical senders for outboard engine trim have many standards, typically specific to each manufacturer. The resistance ranges are different, and the direction sense varies. The nominal values are:

TRIM SENDER RESISTANCE
Ohms: Up / Mid /Down
EVINRUDE: 10 / 44 / 88
JOHNSON: 10 / 44 / 88
SUZUKI: 2.5 / 44 / 88
MERCURY: 160 / 39 / 10
YAMAHA: 280 /150 / 10
