I gave up on the Temptation 22, the guy just wanted way too much money. Good news is that I found a Revenge 25 in my price range that I plan on torture testing this weekend. It has an Evinrude 200, the broker says it has a standard "cut" transom. I know whaler had several different mounting options, my question is the "cut" model notched or straight? I would like to move up to twin outoards eventually

The standard "notched transom" on the 25 hull uses twin 20" engines, or a single 25" engine.
The problem with twins is that you will have a hard time finding counter rotation models in anything but 25" shaft length, so you will have to install 6" or 12" setback jack plates to raise the engines up the required 5". The later Whaler Drive models, which came out at the time the counter-rotating engines were introduced, (about 1987) were all designed for 25" twins.
