what I meant to say is I think its cool that a kid is more interested in whalers than some of the B.S. going on these days. Hope no one ran him off.

Actually I emailed him a while back and told him if he needed any help or wanted me to travel over to NE NJ and take a look at his 13 I could probably make the time and offer any help or suggestions I could --- never heard back -- I know Clark Roberts had been in touch with him --- not sure when the last time he heard from him though --- Tom

Tspring (Tom) hits me with instant messages frequently... last was yesterday.. just said "Hi".. he mentioned earlier that he might go "Whalering" this week end. He has his priorities in order. Wish I had been as wise at age 16.. Old man and the sea

Go get 'em, Tom (tspring), and keep us posted! The season is pretty much over here in Michigan, so until next Spring, I'll have to make it on what I read here from you guys that can keep on going-

Kingfish, the season is not over in Mich.! We were out Sat. in Reliant`s 25` Outrage running out of Saugatuck & Holland. Beautiful day! Not much sun, waves 1 to 2 Ft. You do have to dress for the conditions though. Hope you get a chance to get one more ride in! Outraged

We went way clear down to Lobos Rocks (17 mi one way) today. Got face shots of a
Leopard Shark <VVBG>.

Next two weeks I'm off diving in Belize for

Thanks all for adding salt to my wounds, here in Northern Ontario we had snow over the weekend and thet is a definite indication that the Whalering season is over. But thanks for letting me go Whalering vicariously through all the warm climate boaters.

I hope I get one more ride, too (although I am not betting the farm on it). I will tell you that I was sorely tempted to run over to Lake Michigan on Saturday, until I remembered that I have my leaning post in pieces, and am doing some gelcoat repair on the gunwales where there had been rod-holders. Keep the faith...

Chuck - be careful with those Belize habeneros - (and have a great time).

I hate to gloat, but down here in "Sportsman Paradise" we never quit. I'm not saying we don't have days of traveling down a bayou at 40 m.p.h. in 30 degree morning air. But once you stop, wet a line, and watch the brown pelicans going for a morning fish of their own with the sun rising over several thousand acres of marsh on a crystal clear..... - whew- I can't wait until January.

Hey TSPRING, glad to see you're still around.

I followed an earlier string that led me to believe you might have been mad at us!

Not much whalerin goin on in Tennessee this weekend - brrrr. Cold snaps are usually short here though, 30 one weekend, 50 the next.

I know it gets cold quick up there, I remember a few years back trying to beat the ice to get a fish job done in the Buffalo area.

Make sure you winterize that boat! You'll find plenty of info on how to do it on this site.
