I have a 1974? BW 17 and I'm curious to know if it is a Cohasset. The console is fiberglass and has a square pedestsal with a larger rectangular box on top. The top box has a hand rail around the top. I have seen one other boat just like it which is why I'm pretty sure it's not a custom job.

I tried to search this site and the net for pictures of another Cohasset, but couldn't find anything. Any information would be appreciated.

I remember the console you are describing, and it was also used in one of the early ribbed sided 21 Outrages. It was a fairly utilitarian affair. I would guess your boat is 1973, and quite rare, but don't remember the name used. It also could be a special order where this special Outrage 21 console was installed instead. Maybe someone with a 1973 catalog can help us out here?

I was under the impression that the Cohasset name was first used in 1973 to introduce the boat that later became the 1974 Montauk.

Blindhog it sounds like a cohasset to me if it is a 61'hull. Send me your E-mail address and I will send you a scanned pic from an old catalog.

Dr Don - sure enough that's my boat - a Cohasset 16. I appreciate the picture, and will post when I get my pictures scanned.

Thanks again.
