I am looking for a reasonably priced boat cover for my 17' 1974 Whaler. Any suggestions? Most cheaper generic covers have a pointed nose and does not fit the blunt bow of my Whaler. Thanks.

What model is it? Overton`s has Boston Whaler covers for about $300 for the `17 Supersport and the `17 Center Console(Montauk)! They have a choice of 2 fabrics. Regards-Jack Graner.

Jack, I'm looking for a cover for my Supersport15, I've noticed however that the boat catalogs only list one for the 15 w/o bow rails.. Have you or any SS15 ppl had any luck finding a good fitting cover, without going custom? Thnx

The only way you are going to get a good fit is with a custom cover and they are not that expensive.

Cabela's has a nice one I just got for my Montauk; $179. they have a listing for Whalers, with choices including 17 Montauk with side and front rails. It came with 8 strong nylon travel straps which are are secure but a bit of a PIA to reach under the trailer. The cover fits perfectly, with a long drawstring like sweatpants have,it has a motor cover, and has double thick waterproof fabric on the rub points like the aft rails, the bow rail and the center console rail. It's a tan color. Well worth it.

I agree with the Cabella's Montauk cover. I have one, and it is a great fit and quality built.

I purchased a cover a year ago at Overtons for my 17' 1967 Sakonnet Whaler. I think I paid about $200.00. I've been satisfied, reinforced corners, multiple tie down loops, and royal blue.

Thanks for the responses. I'll take a look at the Cabela's and Overton's catalogs. $175 to $220 sounds reasonable given the age and condition of the boat.
