I am just about finished for the present with my 15'. Still have a lot of little holes to plug, but overall it looks pretty good. But, I have this unexplainable urge to add up all of the receipts. I am a masochist. Somebody stop me! Itís a loser. Has anyone else had this problem? I will let you know the details.

I keep a running tab of ALL my boats. Then I know how many hours I need to use it before I stop beating my head against the wll. Also after 2 or 3 years you forget how much you have spent. This ofcourse does not include maintenance items, such as gas, oil, plugs. But would include water pumps and prop recons, etc.

sub: I just spent $2100 on an OU shotgun to bust clays and to shoot a few birds every year, with a perfectly servicable semi-auto at home in the closet. A man's got to do what a man's got to do. The last time I did the math on my Whaler, costs vs time on water, my bride of 30 years said, "Don't do that, you'll spoil all of your fun." I guess that's how she got to be a bride of 30 years.

Don't do it. I was keeping track of the expenses on my morgan plus 4, I still keep the receipts, I just don't add them up. Whats the point? Restoration work, for me, is a hobby. Its not a business decision. I enjoy the work. I wish I had more time for it.
