I've been hanging around here for the last few month but just became an official Whaler in the last two weeks. This is a great forum. I've answered so many questions by just going back and looking at threads.

Anyway, I now have a 70 (I beleive) 16', serial # 33952 (can someone decipher that?)with a 83 Evinrude 115. The motor is in great shape. All cyl blowing 130 psi. very clean. Bought it from a 78 year old (hasn't been used much lately). $2200 (makes me smile). I need to fare the inside with epoxy or puddy and repaint. The plywood console (not original) has some serious rot, but is nicely designed. I plan to copy it in marine grade and encapsulte with glass and epoxy.

I'll be asking for advise in the future, thanks in advance.

Hi Tom,
I redid a 35 y.o. 16 and used the Whaler plans to redo a console and seat from manogany. If you go to my web site you can see the project being done.
