Last September, I posted a question about a possible purchase of a 1983 Revenge 20 and got this reply from LHG:

"I would proceed cautiously on any Outrage/Revenge 20' hull 1978-1984. This was the original V-series Hull, and it could have used a deeper V, as the later designs all had. I understand they are quite hard riding, although better riding than the previous 19 & 21 models. They all had a particular porpoising problem when powered with OMC engines (which have inadequate trim tuck-in), so I would avoid that particular combination unless transom wedges are installed. Other than the ride characteristics, they were the beginning of the now-Classic 2nd generation Outrages, and are nice looking boats. But if you must have a 20' Revenge, I would seriously consider finding a 1985-1989, built on the superior 22 Outrage hull."

I just found a 1979 Outrage 22 for sale, which I have not yet seen. Does the same advice apply, or is this a different hull than the Revenge 20 of the same era?
