Doeas anyone have a good idea what a 1988 Whaler 11ft Sport weighs? With a 20hp Rude?

I am interested in getting this thing mounted on davit. Either Weavers or lifting arms.

Any thoughts would be greatly apprciated.

The 20hp Rude weighs about 120lbs. 6 gal tank with gas is about 60lbs. Battery about 40-50lbs. Add that to hull weight , etc.

Dad had an 11' on his Chris Craft. Especially on older cruisers (ours was a 1961 50 footer) the beam was narrow, so the 13 would not fit. I don't think we ever towed the whaler, it was so darn quick to winch it up. Critical to this was getting it to clear the transom step which means either long davits or some kind of pivoting davit system. The pivot system pulls the dinghy in towards the transom as you finish the hoisting. Dad put his on before pivot systems were out there much so I recall he had long custom arms.

Hull weight for the sport is listed in the reference section at 250 lbs.

Hull 250
Battery 40
Gas 60
Rude 120!
Extras 30

TOATL 500 Pounds

This will take some substantial davits I assume. I'm not worried about the weight on the stern, peformance wise. We'll use the davits when in the canals where towing is a major pain in the rump, but top speed is about 10mph.

Thanks for your help.

I had a 9' tender with weaver hinge davits. Nice davits, however I didn't like the way I had to drill through the sides on the boat and the boat (without power) was difficult to lift up.
