I mounted an outboard kicker bracket on my 1991 21' Walkaround. While there was some wood in the transom, the bolt heads on the inside of the boat pulled in the fiberglass shell more than I had expected. I then used fender washers on the inside. This reduced the amount the glass pulled in, but is still very obvious. Do I have to use a backer plate for the inside bold heads or is a little "pull in" on the bolts OK. Also, I was surprised to see aluminum come out of the top holes I drilled. I assume that is for transom support.
