There are also new controls, wiring harness and tach on e-bay for cheap as well....don't let this slip by you.

Not affiliated but I know a steal when I see one....if I needed a 70hp, she would be in my transom and not on CW.

How do you think it would push a Montauk?

Setup correctly it pushed mine 39.5mph and at 25mph cruise it burned about 2-2.5gph giving you over 10mpg. A 90, 4 stroke or e-tec is only a few mph faster and economy is less. By far the best bang for the buck and sooooo quite and reliable.

I was checking his feedback and saw the same motor sold a month ago for $3500.... maybe the buyer backed out? I just get worried about it being so cheap... is there a reason? item=110267341758

Been on Craigslist for a little while...Spongebob(CW member) talked to the guy, maybe he can offer more insight. Being a 2006 it STILL has factory warranty. Please I have NOTHING to do with this engine but if interested at $2775, it is NOT gonna be on the market for long so stop asking me questions and ask the owner.

I did ask via E-Bay. I'll let you know what he says.

"The prior buyer backed out of the deal after winning the bid due to personal reasons."

This is the answer I got....

"Thanks for your interest. The prior deal did fall thru as the prior buyer did not have a wire harness to run the motor when he came to pick it up.
The motor is a used one and by the time you add in shipping (unless it is picked up locally), the cost will likely be in the mid $3k's. I think that it is worth it for someone if it is 40%-50% below book value especially if all of the rigging and a prop is needed. "

I appreciate your sharing this with us Tohsgib, and sorry for seeming like I was asking you a question. I was just sharing a concern I had with everyone hoping for some input. I had already asked the seller a question. I do realize you have nothing to do with the sale.

I was thinking about the new 90hp Suzi 4 strokes coming out for my 19 Outrage project... I have twin Mariners on there now and Im looking to go with twin 4's - I know weight is an issue but I am willing to give it a shot. When I saw this I thought I could always do twin 70's.

Thanks for sharing.

Interesting, two completely different responses.

I do not care that you asked me questions, especially since I owned one but I can not answer why and what questions about the engine or owner obviously. Again this engine should have 4 more years of warranty on her.

Could only be 1 year depending on when purchased.

This looks like a super deal but at 357 pounds, I'm not sure it would be the right choice for a jack plated 15 Sport. I'm leaning towards a Yamaha two stroke 90 at 261 pounds. Of course, HUGE cost difference.

Thanks for the heads up, Nick.

BTW, the second Pate, picked up from a member in Jersey a few years ago, however it is a 12 gallon, same foot print, just not as tall. It was made in early 90's and has never seen ethanol.

Wait til my home computer is back on line... Just replaced my Racor after one year of use with the Pate and ethanol. HOLY $#!#!!! You ain't gonna want the 15 gallon!

There is a 2000 Yamaha 90 on the Florida Sportsman classifieds

As Nick said I inquired about the Suzuki while it was listed on Sarasota Craig's List. My son was interested in it but decided he didn't want to spend that much and bought Nick's Tohatsu 50. It sounded nice and the seller was willing to negotiate down from his $3,500.00 asking price. I never viewed the motor.
