I have a '79 Montauk that has really been a great boat. It has never let me down till this past weekend. The key switch started giving me trouble. I fixed the switch for now, however; I need a replacement. My question is, Can I get the same switch as a replacement or do I go to a different style? also, should I replace the switch every few years or take my chances?

WT, If the key switch gave you trouble once it'll do it again, probably at the least opportune moment. I'm sure you can get a replacement from your BW dealer. Cole Hersee makes some high quality marine key switches built for the corrosive salt water marine environment. Any good marine retailer usually has these. Don
