I have a 1986 13' sport without rails. I was thinking of installing two rod holders and possibly a small downrigger. I want to do this with as few holes in the boat as possible. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance, Spencer Chang

I installed a pair of stainless steel vertical rod holders on the inside of the transom of my '72 13. I purchased them many years ago at Bliss Marine, and they installed with 2 screws each. The nice part was that the tubes slid on and off of a slim ss mounting bracket, hiding the screws and making them easy to remove for cleaning and security. The boat looked neat with two rods in the holders, and they worked great for keeping the rods out from underfoot. There is enough of an angle to the transom that they were ok for trolling too.
