I am refurbishing a '70 13' sport. I have it all sanded except the floor. I started sanding the floor with a wire brush attached to a drill, it is taking off the paint down to the gelcoat like i want it to, but it is taking took me three hours to do less that a square foot?
There has got to be a faster way to do this?
Any ideas?.....chemicals, other tools?

Two choices: (1)Get a marine stripper that won't harm fiberglass. You will have to use the wire brush to clean up the mess. (2) Take it to a local sand blaster and have him blast it with baking soda. I've described this process elsewwhere in the forum. E-mail me or give me call and I'll explain how we did it. JIM

thanks jimu, i went to west marine and purchased some some marine stripper with their name on it. I applied it with a roller and let it sit overnight. It took most of the paint off without harming the original gelcoat.
