CLAYING A MONTAUK ??

Does anyone know if applying automotive clay to the gelcoat (like on cars paint) will pull the tiny impurities out to prepare the gelcoat surface for a final polish and wax application? The boys at my marina call me Mr. Anal in my efforts to keep my "Baby" spotless. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Mark

I would think it shouldn't hurt anything. I have clayed cars/trucks before. It does make a auto paint job very smooth and slick. I really never thought my gelcoat on my boat needed it. On a auto paint job You can really feel the impurities, but on gel coat I really don't remember feeling that? Try it. Let us know, then maybe We'll all start doing it.- ha ha.
