I'm fixing up an old outrage and had a question, the fabric that covered the inside gunnell fell apart so I removed it all, any ideas for removing the leftover glue? I'm planning on painting the area with a light gray paint when I get all the goop off. Thanks, John

Try acetone. It removes just about anything. I always have a gallon on hand. You may want to wear some gloves if it's a big job.
Works great for cleaning reel drags too!

On this same point. What about replacing the original material? Anyone know where to source it?

If the material you are talking about is the brown burlap/canvas type material that was on my 73 OR 21, it is no longer available as per Chuck bennett at Whaler. I think trying to remove the residual adhesive with acetone would be a forever job. I plan to use a vinyl flooring material, Nautolex, available from West Marine (see pg 764 in new catalog). Lists only 54" wide material but is also available in 72" width. Currently waiting for pricing on latter from local WM shop.
