Jim: When we spoke before you mentioned that you had recently replaced the motor on your '71 with a Yamaha. Do you have the Nauset style console? If so, I was just wondering how you might have organized the guages / switches in your cutouts?

I should probably be posting this on repairs... oh well.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

I built a "custom console" out of 3/8 plywood, took it to a fiberglass shop and had it glassed inside and out, and gel coated with a white gel coat to match the off white interlux paint i used on the boat. the overall dimensions are 38 inches high, 30 inches wide, 24 inches deep. The dash is about 45 degrees. I mounted the instruments to give a good layout and balance them with the binnacle mount and ignition switch both of which I located on the right side of the dash. I'll try to post some pictures of my work in progress with some close ups of the console in the near future. JIM
