Hi All:

Boat is '69 Nauset, Motor Yamaha 70ETLG. 1988. Prop is 3 blade SS 13 1/2 x 16. Prop is stamped 16-K.

I'm spinning 6000 RPM at 39.4 mpg (GPS).

Just changed over to a Yamaha analog tach, I could not read the digital readout very well being colorblind.

I'm going to guess that I'm about 500 RPM over what should be at WOT.

Top speed not as important as hole shot.

I have a pair of 1987 Yamaha 70-HP engines. They have the stock, 17-inch pitch propellers.

At WOT they turn 5500. I seldom run them at that speed. After all, they are 16-year old engines!

CB & Jimh:

Thankx for the input. I plan on putting a SS 13 1/2" x 17 on. Would you advise OEM or aftermarket prop.

Jimh: By any chance have you istalled Boyesen reeds on your carbs?

Thankx again
