I have been thinking about where to install a VHF antenna on my 13 foot Sport. The antenna will be either 3 or 4 foot. There doesn’t seem to be a perfect place to mount the antenna. The starboard corner of the stern would be good except I occasionally troll so it would be in the way. The starboard side-rail toward the bow is the next choice but it would be in my sight line.

Any ideas?

How about a hand held....
Bet you don,t go far offshore with a 13.
Install a cig. lighter and you can charge the unit underway.
Get one of the water prof ones in case you drop it in the water.
Now matter where you put a antenna on a 13 it will get broken befor you know it
Plus you can use it in the tow vehicle to and from the water to get launch ramp, fishing reports etc. or general chit chat with fellow boaters.
