Raymarine will announce at the Miami Boat Show their C & E-Series Displays will now feature an NMEA-2000 interface for display of electronic engine instrument data.

These sunlight-viewable color displays can be mated with GPS, RADAR, and SONAR sensor units to create a multi-function helm display system. They will now also be able to display engine instrument data as well.

Systems like this are rather expensive and not likely to be found on small boats. However, the trend to include NMEA-2000 data input in the system is notable.

I purchased my Raymarine C-120 in 2005. [Can] the older C-120 can be software upgraded for NMEA-2000?
