pulled my year old 18 dauntless out of storage and the stereo won't come on. All fuses ok. My confidence is already shaken because when I took delivery of the boat the stereo didn't work and they had to swap off one from another boat. My dealer is too far away to make it convenient to load up and have them take a look.
Anyone else had problems with the clarion cd player?

When I was parts manager for SeaRay/Boston Whaler, here in Seattle, we were allways replacing Clarion units. I would replace it with a quality product. Thier speakers never gave any problems.

Try an Apple iPod.

First, use a multimeter and check that there is power to the back of the unit. Also, check and see if there is a fuse on the cd unit itself. Third, check your owner's manual...there may be a reset button under the removable faceplate.
