[W]hen [I] hit the pump switch, the macerator pump runs for a minute, then bogs down and stops--only to start up again 30-seconds later. Is it time for new pump?

From your narrative it sounds like the electrical motor in the pump is shutting off from overload. Typically the overload is based on temperature. When the pump cools off it can resume operation.

You report that the pump bogs down. It may be time for a new pump, but one with greater capacity.
