One of the courtesy lamps, Boston Whaler part number 0860320, under the gunwale on my 2007 Conquest 235 has burned out. It is unclear to me how I am to access the housing to replace the lightbulb. Before I break the housing, I thought I would ask the group if they've had experience with this before.

Do I unscrew the flange around the lens? Pry off the flange to access the lens and bulb housing? Access the bulb housing through the access port in the gunwale? (Easier said than done because what access there is seems to be far from direct)

I know this sounds like a stupid joke but I would rather ask a stupid question and be a source of light entertainment and ridicule for you guys than break something on my boat!
