We have our registration in with Whaler. We got reservations at the Hyatt for $89.00 per night.

See you all there!

Ace, Will I be better off bringing the 15_Rage or the 15_Sport? I can only bring one, and the wife said to sign us up since her last day of classes is on May 18th!

I'm guessing she'll want to bring the Rage, since she loves the little Jet...

Registered and will be there but not sure what boat. I have a wedding that weekend wither Friday or saturday night but no big deal.

Like all the other times....anyone who needs a slip for thirstday or friday before the event, let me know. My house is a nice 1 hour run from the north through the ICW to Sarasota. I head down Saturday being you don't need your boat there friday.

Where2; I'd bring the Sport, it's pretty tricky getting in and out of the docks remember? Those Jets are hard to dock! I'm going to pass on this trip, so many Whalers, so many rendezvous...
WhalerAce posted 03-24-2006 01:42 PM ET (US)     Profile for WhalerAce  Send Email to WhalerAce

You'd BETTER show up! It won't be a rendezvous without you!

Come on now, we are towing all the way from South Carolina (and still don't win the most-traveled contest) so you can come down from Deland.

See you there, OK?

Don't know if we'll get to Sarasota but we will be in Stuart so far. Lots of stuff going on in that few weeks ( I will explain later.............;)

that sounds like a plan, I'll have my new engine installed by then, now if my trailer can still make it -LOL-

I wish I could say that I would make it. I left the last trip open hoping my schedule would allow me too. Unfortunately it didn’t work out that way. My business is very demanding and adding to my limited time is selling hurricane shutters on the side this time of year. I am sure one of the two is going to break me into a drinking binge with a fishing pole in one hand on some deserted island with no phone, or the potential of a dirt nap pushing up roses instead of smelling them. I’m hoping for the drinking binge! And the Sarasota trip would do the trick. Besides I still owe Nick for the raffle ticket win! So, without committing and not showing up, I will leave it at a maybe and if I do show up the first round is on me.

Seems kind of strange, doesn't it, that Sarasota comes before Stuart this year.

This post was really just to bump this thread in the queue so that no one forgets!

One other thought, I had considered pulling the Temptation down for Sarasota and either leaving it and the Tahoe somewhere in Sarasota area, or driving on over to the Stuart area and leaving the rig there for the next rendezvous. Plan was just to get a round-trip plane ticket back to Charleston and return for the next rendezvous. Could not believe the price of plane tickets. I can fly cross country cheaper than from Sarasota or Stuart to Charleston. Guess I'll have to look into frequent flyer miles redemption.

This is still early enough in the hurricane season that these rendezvous won't be affected, right? (hope)

Hope to see everyone there!

Ace, Lobstah Woman can't afford to take Friday off from work, so we'll be showing up on Saturday with bells on and staying overnight at the Hyatt.

If you want to check on flights out of PBI (West Palm Beach), it's 30 miles south of Stuart and a much larger airport than Stuart or Sarasota. I can probably set up a place to park the boat and truck in the interim if you can get a flight reasonably.

Hurricane Season starts June 1. We should still be OK through the first weekend (Stuart Event)! After the first weekend, it's anyone's guess... My mobile home hurricane anchors are already in the ground for the Whalers (thanks to Wilma).

Will be there friday and sunday and MAYBE staurday until about noon. I have to be at the church(wedding party) at 1 for pics and stuff.

Revenge is coming out S-W-E-E-T! I have never seen 30 year old gelcoat buff out like this in my entire life, looks like a mirror. Janis' decal set really made a huge difference as well...thanks! She better run like a Suzuki should and I won't need to use that 6yr warranty. Hopefully I will have the interior done as well by then, just want to use the damn thing.

Where2 and Lobstah Woman will be there for Saturday and Sunday, presuming I can use my work SUV to bring the boat along... Unfortunately, we don't have our own SUV anymore. (an odd tale of events we can discuss over lunch left us without a family tow vehicle).

If I can't use the work SUV, I'll either have to borrow a tow vehicle, or come without the boat...

I can get things cleaned up at my trailer and come over friday must leave to get back to ohio on saterday. Where are you going to be? thanks Joe

I will be at beercan on the 13th. Sunday is Mommy Day so no dice.

The following Friday is the capt. meeting at the Hyatt in sarasota which is right at the east side base of the big bridge. Look for the crew in the CW shirts usually. Give me a buzz if ya want, can take an afternoon cruise during the week as well but doubt to beercan being it is an hour from my house(manatee river).

Because it costs so much to tow the Temptation (and someone always beats me on distance traveled), we are going to bring OUR 15' GLS this time.

We'll be there sometime after noon on Friday. After launching our boat, we could run the Suburban over and pick you & and the boat up if you want. How far of a drive is that?

We could either do it Friday afternoon or EARLY Saturday, lemme know your druthers.

Less than TWO WEEKS,

WhalerAce & WhalerJoy

Ace...he's about 4 hours away towing each way.

You brought the 15 last time too :)

More than welcome to trailer/boat stash at my place....anyone.

We won't be able to make it to Sarasota but finally registered for Stuart this week.

Ace, I REALLY appreciate the offer. Nick's right that it's 3-4 hours to my house from Sarasota. I suspect I'll find something to tow it with, even if I have to borrow something from my parents down the street. (They own two tow vehicles)

Must have a bad track record if your parents won't lend you a truck ;)

You better be there, you owe me $5 for club dues!

Nick, I'll be there, no doubt there. No, I don't have a particularly bad track record with the parents (If there was a bad track record, I would have moved more than 4 houses down the street), it's just whether or not they need their vehicle over the weekend. (difficult to trade them for my vehicle for the weekend when it's nestled in the garage without it's supercharger). I suppose I could leave them with my wife's new ride, if I could pry the keys out of her hand (easier said than done).

I've got my work cut out for me though. I've got wheel bearings to go through on Wednesday or Thursday night before she hits the road. (finally decided to bring the 15_Sport). Big question is whether I have time to mount the new CP180i chart plotter. Considering my chart doesn't cover those waters, I may just leave the CP150 in place and install the CP180i before Stuart.

Nick, thinking of coming down Friday. Not sure yet, spun my prop yesterday. I'd like to get together, and possibly see Briguys SeaCraft. Will be staying on Longboat. Not sure where I would be launching from. Do you have a dinner rehearsal Friday night? zot.
The Judge posted 05-15-2006 02:34 PM ET (US)     Profile for The Judge  Send Email to The Judge
No...rehersal is wednesday. I will be at the Hyatt on Friday probably sans boat. Saturday is wedding but I might show up for a bit being wedding is down the road at 1pm. Sunday I will be bringing the Revenge down and hanging out for the weigh-in and lunch...heck I paid for it:)

Depends on where you are on Longboat. To give you an idea the Hyatt is directly across the bay from the inlet, marinemax, mote aquarium, etc. If you are close to there then drop in there. On the north side there are a few ramps as well but not sure where exactly. I do know there is one just on the north side(literally) of the bridge going to Anna Maria Is.

Nick, Whaler is fine. Spoke to my aunt and condo is ready. But I can't bring boat and trailer inside the freakin' joint. No problem, I can leave rig at friends in Ellenton. But I can't park my 2004 Tacoma SR5 there either.

Last time I was there I drove my 1995 ForeRunner. And before that I limped in with my 1987 with a blown out windshield from a shredded tire somewhere up I-75. I'm pissed and will arrange a weekend around Beercan. Sounds a little more my speed. Hope everyone has a great time with same weather. zot.

Great ramp at 17th street. Just a block or two from the Hyatt.

I should send JimH a photo of my sport sitting in the backyard with no tires on the trailer, and one hub off the axle... Did I mention I have the flu, and I apparently owe Nick $5 and a couple beers for being a "No Show"?

So, who took home my 3 bags of goodies, since I'd paid for 3 attendees and none of us showed up! (RATS!!)

The Judge posted 05-22-2006 02:11 PM ET (US)     Profile for The Judge  Send Email to The Judge
Let Whaler know you were sick and they may comp you Stuart if you are attending. Actually you only get 1 bag of goodies per boat. You did however miss the 2.5 gal of free merc oil....SWEET!

Jim Ace has my pics so as soon as I get them, I will forward them on to you. I have pics and drove the new 190 Montauk and the 20 Dauntless. The 190 is going to be about $4k+ more than the 170. It is a nice rig and well worth the extra $$$. She did low 40's as well, not bad for a 115. I was no able to attend on saturday and they changed the schedule as well. When I got there at 10am on sunday, most attendees had left.
