In three weeks we'll be down in Orange Beach, Alabama. We are spending July 1st through the 7th there. If everything goes according to plan we will trailer our 1988 22 Outrage Whaler Drive along.

Any information on where to launch, eat, fish, cruise, etc. would be much appreciated.

Also, are there any nearby marinas where I might leave the boat in the water?

Thanks in advance,

I know of three public boat ramps in the area and prefer the ramp on Marina Road. There is also a public ramp on Cotton Bayou. Both will be crowded during the 4th of July week. Bear Point Marina ( has slips available by the day or week. My favorite places to eat lunch which are accessible by water are Tacky Jacks ( Pirates Cove ( Also Jimmy Buffet's sister Lulu has a place on the Intercostal Waterway in Gulf Shores. Can't vouch for the food but the music is good and the beer is cold. There is a new marina adjacent to the resturant but I'm not sure if you could rent a slip. Eating out at night is a hassle. You always have to stand in line. I prefer King Neptunes across from the Gulf Shores Zoo. It's a small place so go early. They normally have early bird specials on most menu items. Enjoy your week.

The place will be a nightmare. Too many people and not enough help at places you want to go. I live in Mobile and would not even venture a trip near the place during that time. Good luck.
