Saturday and Sunday July 15 and 16 there is an Airshow at Vererans park at the Milwaukee lakefront. I'll probably be there in my Dauntless 14 Saturday. I went last year. I launch at McKinley Marina. The Coast Guard closes off a huge area inside the breakwater but there is still plenty of room to anchor and watch. Pretty cool as most of the show is actually over the water.

Thunderbirds, wingwalkers, lots of air stunts. Goes on all day.

I expect to get out there in the Outrage on Sunday afternoon,
attempting to beat the swelter bearing down on the City.

Maybe a cool off cruise-about for a couple hours with the bimini up,
then some evening trolling for Salmon.
Anything I should concern myself with regarding boat traffic
or delays at my "secret launch" down in the 5th ward at the confluence
of the Milwaukee, KK and Menominee Rivers?

The river won't be a problem. The north gap will be closed (I guess) at certain times. It's there somewhere on the website. And an area from the river to Veterans park will be closed.

Bimini... good idea, it's gonna be a hot one.

Went Saturday with my wife between 10:30 & 11am. Bruce street launch was backed up real bad and no parking for blocks. Went to McKinley launch. No waiting and got the number one parking spot right next to the handicapped parking. That's a good start.

Anchored outside the breakwater right between the main gap and the north gap.

Weather was perfect.

Great airshow. 2 favorite parts gave me chills on a hot day. The Airforce F-15 flying wingtip to wingtip with a P-51 Mustang and later a Navy F-18 Super Hornet flying with a F4U Corsair. Roughly 50 to 60 years difference in technology. I was blown away. Then the Airforce Thunderbirds did their thing. Some of them even buzzed the boats. It was deafening and an incredible thrill. They were so close you could see the sun reflecting off their helmets.

Can't wait until next year.

All the boats were courteous and law abiding as far as I could see.

I left at about 5 pm. No waiting at the ramp. There was a huge traffic jam after that but not too bad. Home by 6:30.

Great day!

Sounds like a great time.

I was out west at an inland lake on Saturday, lounging in the water
for pretty much the duration.

On Sunday, came back and dealt with the heat (96 and humid)
until early evening, then dropped the Outrage in at Bruce St.
Traffic not too bad, most everyone was pulling in at that point
and I had no problem getting my rig in line to launch.

Once out on the Lake, the temperature was just fantastic.
Cool breeze consistently unless we were within 1 mile of shore,
then you'd get a taste of the hot land wind, like a hairdryer.

Trolled for Salmon from about 6:30 to 8:30, from 105 down to 75 FOW.
Went 1 for 2 on Kings, the lost one after 15 minutes of battle
and boatside, due to a novice passenger's error.

Then right over to Conejito's with the tub for a quick meal
and a cold margarita...

Is or was your boat parked behind the 1st St. Fire Station?
My lovely wife, always on the lookout for me,
said she spotted a Whaler in back.

Nope, not mine. I wonder whose was parked there. Do you know what kind it was?
The MFD has a big Whaler but it's usually in the water unless someone broke it again.

Don't know what kind it was,
but Alex said it looked about like my Outrage - 18/19.

MFD's boats are clearly much larger, so I wouldn't expect her to confuse them, but maybe...
