In early August we had a Mini-Rendezvous at Neptune Island, North Channel. In attendance were myself [JECHURA] and friend Doug in SPOUTER, Dave [BUCKA] and Pat [HOMEASIDE] in GAMBLER, Peter [CDWHALER] with sons Jake and Ray with their dog Rollie in WAVECRASHER and John [KINGFISH] and wife Katy in OTRIE. Thanks to John to allow us to use Neptune Island and its facilities as a base and to Katy in allowing Doug and I to take over the camp kitchen and prepare for everyone our fabulous Lake Eire perch and Ranch style fries.

It was great to cruise with you again Jerry.
And Dave, Pat and John too of course.
If you go to the link below you'll see a few of my pics. The first 3 are of the lagoon that was too crowded when you and I tried to get in. In the 4th, 7th & 8th picture I'm in the little bay where that sailboat is in your 9th picture.

Thanks for starting this off Jerry-
We really enjoyed seeing all you guys while we were up there, and I still mean to write more about the mini-rendezvous. In the meantime, here's a link to my photos of the event in PhotoBucket: http://tinyurl.com/nxa3v

I need to get up there next year....With out full canvas does the land lord allow camping on land?

I understand the landlord has considered such accomodations (Dave Buckalew camped on the island when attending a larger rendezvous in 2003, and he came up in his 15.)
Plenty of neat places to camp in the vicinity, besides on Neptune, including another small island we own a couple miles away that you could have to yourself!

Yeah...I camped out on Neptune in 2003...and listened for the "landlord" all night long (Word has it that Neptune has a great blueberry patch. I can think of a few woodland creatures that like to eat blueberries, and that I would not like to meet in the middle of the night).
Neptune has a dock, though...and if you give John and Katie puppy-dog eyes in the morning, John might let you come on the porch for some coffee!
Seriously Jeff - there are a LOT of places to camp up there.
Let me know and I can share some sites from my map set with suggestions.
