The smirkmister will be cruising the Mt. Dora show again this year. This is a great event. Other than the show, the Dora chain of lakes ain’t no puddle. There are plenty of places to cruise to including great places to eat and drink! It would be nice to have a better showing than the Donzi guys this year. Let me know if you need any additional info. Here's the official website.

Hey Ward, how are ya? My brother and I will be there again this year. Thursday through Sunday, but I think all should be warned that the show is pretty much over by Saturday afternoon/dusk. I've seen families showing up Sunday (late morning/brunchtime/maybe after church?) and very disappointed to find us rushing around to get a jump on traffic. Still a great place for any size Whaler!

More pics of previous years at, under skiff outings. zotcha. senti-MENTAL value

Mt. Dora is right near all the real bad weather early today - how did it make out?

Mt. Dora and surrounding area of Lake Eustis faired well, other than strong winds, power outages from around 0230 through 0600, and severe lightening display. Antique outboard show further south in Lake Wales also minimally effected. This was reported by skiff webmaster, as of Friday morning, 0730, located in Eustis, Fla.. zot.

BTW, anyone in the area looking for something to do, GeorgeFest, weekend of 2-27 and 28. Parade, carnival type setting (Family) at a park located on Lake Eustis, I believe. Speedskiffs will be honored guests. zot.

Hay Zot!

Look forward to seeing you and the skiff again. Got it running good I hope. I agree, Sunday is a bust, Saturday is the best.

You must mean the GeorgeFest is the weekend of Feb 24-25. Also that weekend is a gathering of about 40 rare BMW 840/850 ci's at Mt. Dora's Lakeside Inn. I scored one of these 12 cylinder beauties last year on Ebay. We'll be out cruising mostly but will be back about 5:00PM on Saturday. I'll try to convince our Fest to come by your Fest sometime on saturday. Happy racing!

Yes Ward, you have the dates correct. Tommy and I should be at GeorgeFest Friday afternoon for some laps and running on Saturday, as well. Believe we are scheduled to work shift on Sunday, so may be pulling out sometime around 5. Hope to see the Bimmer. If not this month, will she be towing the Whaler to Mt. Dora next month? zot.

No hitch on the 850 but it looks like the 30-some 8-fest cars will be driving through your GeorgeFest on Saturday somewhere around noon. If If don't see you then, I'll catch you at the AntiqueBoatFest. Smirk
