I saw the Bimini trip on the B.W. website leaving Ft. Laud. in mid July and I'm giving it a lot of thought. Aside from the main events that are listed on the official Boston Whaler website, does anyone plan or know of any Whaler events in Florida this summer. Seems like a great time, getting together with a bunch of B.W. enthusiats and enjoying a cold beverage or two.

I gave the wife the Bimini trip info. She immediately faxed a registration form to B.W. Looks like I'm going to Bimini.

Where are you at? The Stuart BW Owner's Event was last weekend. Drop by my dock next time you pass North Palm Beach... (presuming you don't have any issues with bridge clearances, if you have a T-top, you'll have to watch the tides...) There are a couple other CW members kicking around the Palm Beaches, maybe they will chime in.

I knew about the Stuart gathering last week and wanted to attend. However. I spent the weekend watching my 13 year old son play in a basketball tournament. His team didnt fare too well, we should have skipped the b-ball and headed for the Whaler gig.

I'm in Merritt Island and I do have a t-top with radar mounted on it. So, if there's a low bridge, it may be a problem for me.

Does Whaler have some issue where they exclude B.W. owners from the factory sponsored B.W. events if the owner purchased his Whaler from a private owner rather than a dealer? I had heard that, but thought it must be incorrect.

I have never bought one from a dealer.

Whaler's only stipulation is that the boat be a Whaler and not an Edgewater or an Everglades. I'm the second owner on my 15_Sport, and the 3rd owner on my 15_Rage. They seem to let me attend events. I haven't tried bringing my father's 20' Edgewater... (it looks strikingly similar to an Outrage)

Depending on the tide, you can still visit my house, you just want to pick a lower tide, or call me and have me meet you somewhere. There are 35' Fountains and other large boats with T-tops and radars on my side of the bridge, they just cannot always go out at every tide. My 15' Whalers don't have bridge clearance issues.

If I happen to drag one of my Whalers up to visit my sister in West Melbourne, I'll give you a shout. Have fun on the Bimini trip, you'll love it.

I don't know if it even has to be a Whaler -- part of the event is the DEMO RIDES given in the new Whalers. What better opportunity to convert one of the lost than to have them at an OWNER's event to brag about the quality and fun of the boat?

I wouldn't miss any of them. If our Temptation were going to be back from the shop, I still would like to go. I asked Will at the Stuart event if they gave any scholarships, but alas, the anwer was no.

So maybe it is PERSPECTIVE Whaler Owners.

On Boston Whaler's Website: on the lower right side of the screen, you will see a link to "Owner's Events". Click that, and it brings up the information about the events.

Since Bimini is right around the corner on the calendar (July 11-15), I suggest placing a phone call to Traci Davis at the Boston Whaler Factory on Monday Morning at 8AM (EDT), to inform her of your interest and find out what you need to do to make the trip. Traci's phone number is in the sign up form. A phone number for the resort in Bimini is also in the form, I would call them ASAP to determine if there is room at the resort.

Good luck and enjoy the trip.

I spoke with the Capt. Matt @ Lauderdale marina about a week or so ago. He is running the group from Ft. Lauderdale. He said that they expect about 20 boats
(or more) from Ft. Laud. and another 20 (or more) from Miami to be heading over to Bimini. If we have 40+ Whalers over there, it should be a real good time.
