I'll be there depending on how I make out with some engine trouble this week.

CBO, our fearless leader....Riverwhaler and wife will once again travel to the coast and join you all for this event.
Just spent last weekend on Penobscot Bay and had a good time. So boat is all set. See you in the AM.

I'm in. Whaler is in my driveway for a few more touch ups this week. Planned splash at Cashmans on Sunday morning at sunrise with a run up with Newt from the Merrimack.

Phil, I got your cell and I'll be on channel 9 VHF.

Engine trouble appears to be fixed. I'll know better after the maiden voyage on Saturday.

Myself and first mate Matthew (age 12) will be there and ready to go...Phil, let's meet up again at the Eliot docks.

Does Dockside know we're coming....and do we have dockage at Your Harbor Marine?

Also....for those coming from the ocean side.....the 'outer buoy' Phil refers to is 2KR...just a bit off Whaleback Light

Just Checked the weather. Doesn't look bad so far, but then I haven't made this run before so others may know better.

Tides for Sunday Gosport Harbor (Isles of Shoals)

Low: 0303 ~ High: 0918
Low: 1513 ~ High: 2135

I've been looking at the charts, and am thinking that ocean side travellers (Myself and Newt) may be better making the run straight to the Shoals from Newburyport rather than doing the run up the coast.

I need to confer with Seth (Great Bay) concerning York Harbor Marine dockage and food. Will email everyone (off-line) on the conversation.

Nate - Solo or with the fam?

Counts are: (Nate fam additions in ( )

8 boats
10 adults (or 11)
3 youngsters. (or 5)

Cat Boat - Brian and I made that run last year and it was snotty (Brian did a "Tom Clark" - see Cetacea Page 40). Then again, you and Nate are in 22-25' boats. I thought you both would trailer up due to the price of fuel.

Wow....Sunday sounds downright placid vs. the conditions when Phil and I took the Outrages down to Joppa Flats. Phil loves to object to my judgement and 'preferred speed under any conditions'.......but we all know he's just jealous.

Downpours, 4 - 6 footers, gusting to 25 knots and a small craft advisory made for a fun trip....but hell, that's why we have Whalers, not Aquasports!

See everyone on Sunday!

We plan on making the trip on Sunday.

I will check the weather on Saturday to see if the sea conditions are good enough to keep from getting slammed in my 1972 "Smirkless" Katama.

Hope to see you all on Sunday.

Blue Skies, Pete

I just mapped out planned route from Newburyport --> 2KR --> Shoals --> York --> 2KR --> Newburyport. It's around 68 miles.

For you guys coming from Elliot, the route is around 40 miles.

Catboat and NHKatama, we could shave about 9 miles off the route if we go straight to the Shoals. Lets call it on Sunday.

CBO, if the weather is good, I'll have the full crew.

NHKatama, if it's too snotty for your smirkless beauty, you are welcome to join me in the new 25 footer - just bring a couple of chairs or something to sit in.

I called David at YHM. They sent me to his voice mail since he was with a customer. I left voice mail that I needed to speak with him before he left today as there would be a group of about 10 botas, 12 adults and 7 kids coming his way on Sunday. I have yet to hear back from him.

No word from Stevenson. I drove down to West. He wasn't there so that leaves out that excuse. :-)
I just fueld and prepped the Montauk. All I need now is a reliable deckhand. I hope he doesn't blow me off!

Due to several events and being the last minute (long story) we have changed the itinerary.

We now plan to go upriver visit Great Bay and have lunch at Brian's hangout.

While we have done this before, remember, it is not where you go, it's that you get to cruise in a Whaler with other Whaler friends.

Thanks to Brian and his connections!!

Email to go out after I post this.
