Any takers? I am going to start to plan my summer trip from Santee to Charleston and wonder if anyone from here would ilke to make it a Whaler rendezvous. We're looking at possibly the last week in July. Details and dates will follow.

I'm game. The 15' is actually finished and running. I'm in Charleston so I'd prob just have someone drop me off at the start point. Not all that familiar with the area, but I'd love to learn.
It might be tough to get this together so soon after the Beaufort trip...that didn't materialize as we had wished.

This would be the trip that requires a couple of lock systems, is that correct? I've heard, but never been. Sounds pretty cool, actually freakin' HOT! I don't think that I could do it without the bimini. I'll stay tuned. zot.

There is only one lock to go thru coming out of Lake Marion headed to Charleston.
This is a pretty trip with the marshes and the winding river. There are a couple of no wake areas one of which is in a bend that will sneak up on you so pay attention.
For the bigger whalers there is a railbridge that a 290 Sundancer just barely can get under at high tide so put those outriggers down.
Here is the trip from last year.
Ya'll have fun

I am already in Charleston but, let me know if you’re going to be in the Charleston harbor or beach area for a while, I might meet up with you.
