On my 1998 20 O/R, it comes with a pair of pedestal seats. One of my pedestals is slowly becoming loose at the base. My question, has anyone removed the seats to see if there is a securing bolt under there?

Oh well, I just had to look into it. I removed the seat, then the stand from the floor of the boat. Nothing special, no bolts, just a lousy compression fitting that is not doing its job. I through some epoxy in there, which is most likely usless. I will contact dealer and "sea" what they can do........hhmmm

Get the compression fitting welded up by a good TIG welder. Did this two years ago with great resulds. Epoxy and rebelling the fitting didn't work. Weld from inside and run straight edge across pedestal after to be sure no weld material will interfere with deck to pedestal contact

Thank you for your response. Ya, I have to get it done before it gets too far out of shape.
