Hi, I am looking at a 18ft Rage with the 351 Ford jet drive. I am familiar somewhat with the Rage line, smaller engines and jets, but not the 18 with the V-8. I have an Outrage which I love, but have a couple of teenage daughters which don't appreciate my choice. I am looking for a second whaler for more family running around and was wondering if the 351 gives this Whaler enough power to be fun. Any experience of advice on this boat would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for any thoughts.

Is it for salt or freshwater use?

There used to be a slip customer at the marina I work at that had the same boat you are talking about. If I remember correctly it did around 40mph with the 351. But by far the coolest thing about that boat is that the jet pump has electric trim. When fully trimmed up it will throw a rooster tail at least 15ft high and 40ft long. I always looked foward to the the test ride after spring commission.
