I am looking for the best place to find an aluminum prop as a spare just in case I bend and or through a HUB? Is the 16 Inch Pitch Propeller an acceptable Prop or should it be a 18 Inch Pitch Prop like the SS Prop? Many Thanks... Safety is the best Policy... HC

Holy Cow, I would recommend a 21 pitch aluminum as a spare. I had that prop on during the dealer sea trial of my 90 four stroke. It worked ok. Barney

Hello Barney... Does the 21! Have better out of the hole whomper stomper get up and go as compared to an aluminum 16? I do see the 18 Vengence is a tadd bigger than a 16! You do realize what the Forum reports recommend: From the Forum it is recommended the 2 stroke use a 21 " Pitch You would use a 21" on a Four Stroke?>>> Thank you Barney... HCV

I think that the most important piece of information that is needed, before giving advise, is what is your WOT RPM with the prop you are now running.

The thing to remember is if you go down in pitch you increase your WOT RPM if you go up it decreases.

Don't to put much stock in those boat test reports. It may be the same boat/motor combo you have but your performance will be related to how you load your boat not how they did.

Holy Cow, I only recommended the aluminum 21 as a backup prop. I can say that it does not perform up to the 18 pitch stainless that we have on our boats. Good Luck Barney

The best place to ask about the best place to buy something is the Marketplace Forum.

Where would that be Jim?

I only found "the forum formerly known as marketplace" :)
