My Windshield wiper motor does not turn off when the switch is in the off position. I have removed the wires from the rocker switch and the wiper still moves. I am thinking that the motor has some kind of a solenoid? Anyone ever have this problem?

The wiper motor has a set of points which open or close? when you turn the dash switch off. This set of points controls the wiper motor.Water leaks down the wiper shaft and shorts out the points,on my motor it was full of rust.I had this problem last summer. The manufactuer of my wiper motor was AFI/Marinco the model# may have been 80DG I have lost the paper work.My Conquest is a 1999 model.I hope this helps you.
