Per my previous post, I wanted to update everyone on my problem with my GPS whereby my boat was not correctly positined on the map. This weekend I installed my data card and noticed my time was set for central and I'm located in eastern. Changed the time, inserted the card and all is well. Actually, it repositioned my previous plotted "bread crumbs" to be correct. Not sure which of the two things fixed it, but it's fixed.

Too nasty to get out this weekend so will try again next week. Those noreasters turn the water brown and shut down the fishing.

It was inserting the card that fixed the problem, not changing
the time zone. The GPS internally runs on it's own time
system (think GMT, but it's actually something else). All the
time zone setting does is adjust what's displayed, not what
what's used for any position calculations.

And it didn't reposition the bread crumbs, it repositioned the
map under the bread crumbs.

I agree with previous posts; upon installation of the Lake Erie garmin data card all of my previous problems (my lack of expertise!) evaporated....
