Re: Considering a 170 Montauk in South Florida.
A 170 Montauk will do very well for cruising and fishing the bay and Intracoastal waterway, as well as trips to the sandbars ,but your days out of the inlet will be limited. Honestly, if it's within your budget and you have a vehicle capable of towing more, I would suggest going with a 190 Outrage o...

Re: 270 Dauntless: Trolling Motor; Single v. Twin Engines; More
Nice boat—actually extremely nice boat. After you get through the VERADO engine break-in period, I bet it will be fun to hit 55-MPH. Also, to learn if one engine can get the boat on plane and get above 20-MPH will be interesting to know. I was told that these Verados don't require a break-in period...

That's a beautiful Dauntless. I didn't know they were available with a "diving door". Is that what is meant by "swim patio"? That will be a very useful feature when landing a large fish. Its not really a door per se, its more like a platform that opens down and lays just above t...

I found a leftover 2018 model that was rigged with twin 225 Verados, swim patio, windlass and bow and aft Sureshades that I wasn't crazy about but my wife loves them. Looks really nice—good job with the design. My only observation is the placement of the trim tab switches: you may find it a little awkward to use them at speed with a little chop.
