Re: 130 SUPER SPORT As First Boat
I'll echo Jim's comments and say that a 13 is really small for the need you describe. Although you'll probably get by, it will be awkward with that many on board. Does the 13 even have seating for 5? This is coming from a minimalist that uses a 15 Dauntless in the big, blue Pacific ocean. If you can...

Great solution you came up with. Now that you have it in your possession, can you imagine it being place to cover just from the console back? Using it for piloting on crappy cold days? [The runaway boat] doesn't look that far from shore, but, when you're not in the best shape, fully dressed, in cold water, and possibly injured from being ejected, [to make it to shore is] probably a tough swim. Another case of loose steering rod nut?

I recently sold my 2008 Crown Victoria P71 that I used to tow the Dauntless 15 for about four years.
I now use my wife's 2015 Subaru Outback. It has done great so far. I think it is rated for 2800 pounds so I wouldn't hesitate using it to tow the slightly larger boats you are considering.

That is a much better angle akwalker, you can actually see the throw bag being deployed at about 0:27 into the video in your link. They realized the boat was going after them but a little too late. Good thing none of the rescue personnel were injured. I guess the collision disabled the Whaler.

Last Friday, I made it to Santa Cruz island in a little over an hour in my Dauntless 15. The speed was around 15 to 17-nautical-miles-per-hour. NOAA showed swells of up to six feet rolling through the gap between the islands.
