Just sharing a great experience I just had with Moeller Marine customer service. I have an [1986] Montauk that was purchased from a member several years ago. It came equipped with a Pate Plastics on-deck fuel tank, which I replaced in 2008 with a 26-gallon red Moeller on-deck fuel tank. That tank leaked from the gas cap if filled completely. I never did anything about it as I rarely filled the tank completely.
I came across a discussion a few weeks ago concerning the tank I had, which indicated that the tank had a defect which was corrected by Moeller five to seven years ago. That thread was from c.2010. Moeller apparently replaced a few forum members' tanks back then.
I sent an email about a week ago explaining the situation. I just got off the phone with Moeller, and they are sending me their latest model as a replacement, free of charge. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I should have it in 7 to 10 days.

Excuse the imprecise language. They are sending me a brand new on-deck fuel tank, a white 22-gallon model that will fit under the reversible pilot seat.
