Re: Appraisal: 2015 170 Montauk
Some quick research puts a private sale at $26,000 to $27,000; if offered by a dealer then the price would be $28,000 to $29,000.

The selling price must be some fraction of the present replacement cost. Check with a Boston Whaler dealer to see what a 170 MONTAUK sells for in 2019. Then apply an appropriate markdown to make your boat attractively priced. If the boat is in like-new condition, a discount of 20-percent or more from the 2019 retail price would be attractive.
The need to sell the boat in a relatively short time will also affect the price. If you can wait a year to find a buyer, a higher selling price may be possible. Of course, since the boat is only four-years-old, any delay in selling is probably going to affect the value as the boat continues to age.
Generally the amount of time needed to sell a Boston Whaler boat that is in very good condition, is a popular model, and has a reasonable price will be very short. If the boat sells in one day, your asking price was probably too low. There are many potential buyers for a 170 MONTAUK. And since the boat is easily trailered, buyers from a long distance will be willing to come to get it.
If there is no trailer, you will limit the number of buyers to locals. If there is a trailer, you should mention it in your offer to sell.

Re: Appraisal: 2015 170 Montauk
I bought my 2015 170 in 4/18 for $26.5. It had 1 hour on her. Garmin unit. Garaged. Daytona beach. Private party. I think I did well. I had shopped dealers and the dealer fees just seem to add around 6k to the price. I added the larger gas tank, Mercury vessel view, and the Mercury platinum warranty till 2024. Very happy. I do miss my 89 outrage 18. Good luck.
